Fisk University Class of 1972 - The Last Drop

Once upon a time, many years ago, "The Last Drop" was a place on campus where students went to relax. It was located below "Old Livingstone Hall" which was destroyed by fire during the second semester of our sophomore year in 1970. Compared to modern facilities, "The Last Drop" was little more than a hole in the wall, but it was OUR hole in the wall. Some of us spent many hours there, some visited only rarely, and others just knew it was there.

This section of our website is dedicated to the memory of "The Last Drop" and its contribution to our "well-rounded" education while at Fisk. As such, this sentimental journey contains the love songs of the 60s and early 70s, the kind of music that you may have heard when meeting that "special someone" who may have also contributed to your "well-rounded" education.

Our "virtual jukebox" contains more music than you could listen to in just one sitting . . . nearly 14 hours worth! Therefore, we hope you'll bookmark this site and return to it often. We guarantee that there is something here you haven't heard in many years, possibly not since it was popular that long ago. As time permits, we will be adding song lyrics to the site, since many of us may not recall all of the words to some songs. Even so, we can never forget the tunes. They're part of what made us who we are this many years later.

TECHNICAL NOTE: Even with a high speed internet connection, accessing these large music files in their entirety may be tedious for your computer configuration. You may need to be very patient and/or "reload" some pages to get the music started. Once the song is loaded and playing, it will continue to replay (loop) while its window is open. If your browser supports it, you may use the "controller" on each song page to pause, play, rewind, fast forward, and adjust the volume. Songs are grouped in alphabetical order and may be accessed through the jukebox buttons. Enjoy!

NEW FEATURE for 2014 . . . Inspired by Gayle Starling Melvin (Class of '73), we have added an alphabetical list of song artists to our site. You may now click on ALL ARTISTS located on every song page to access the list of artists. (Thanks, Gayle!)
